Job summary

Oregon State University is seeking applications for fixed-term, non-tenure-track instructor positions for the 2025–2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026. Job description

Overview

Instructor Pool - 2025/2026 and Fall Term 2026: Engineering. Applications will be considered throughout the 2025–2026 Academic Year and Fall Term 2026, as opportunities become available. This pool is used to collect applications for current or future opportunities and does not necessarily imply a position is available at this time.

Location: Bend, Oregon. The Engineering Program at OSU - Cascades invites applications for fixed-term, non-tenure-track instructor positions to teach on a term-by-term basis for the 2025–2026 academic year and Fall Term 2026. Some appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position at the discretion of the Dean of Academic Affairs.

Responsibilities

Primary teaching responsibilities (approx. 95%): Teach course(s) term-by-term in Energy Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering or related areas. Administer course assessments and continuously improve teaching effectiveness.

Advising and mentoring (approx. 5%): Advise students, maintain regular office hours, perform recordkeeping, and complete minor administrative tasks including assignment of grades.

What You Will Need

Required: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

Preferred: PhD or terminal degree in the listed fields; independent college/university teaching experience; ability to design, teach and assess courses that support inclusive learning principles and equitable teaching practices.

Work schedule may vary depending on student needs and campus/program activities.

Pay and Recruitment

Pay method: Pay Period 1st through the last day of the month; Pay Date last working day of the month. Salary is commensurate with skills, education and experience. Competitive/external recruitment open to all qualified applicants.
