• At least three years experience teaching.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs for K-12 students with identified disabilities ensuring compliance with federal, state and corporation requirements.
• Attends case conferences as Teacher of Record for students with disabilities.
• Models best-practice instructional strategies and provides actionable feedback to Ball State University preservice teachers and graduate students in Learning Center.
• Manages and assists with statewide testing programs for students with disabilities to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided and the assessments are completed in accordance with state regulations.
• Provides specialized instruction and support to students with significant academic, behavioral, communication, functional, and/or adaptive needs.
• Collaborates with general education teachers to support student participation and progress in the least restrictive environment.

Compensation/salary is determined and based upon relevant experience and highest degree earned, with a salary range of $48,500-$74,312.

Duties and Responsibilities

• a. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education programs (IEPs) for K-12 students with identified disabilities ensuring compliance with federal, state and corporation requirements.
• b. Attends case conferences as Teacher of Record for students with disabilities.
• c. Models best-practice instructional strategies and provides actionable feedback to Ball State University preservice teachers and graduate students in Learning Center.
• d. Manages and assists with statewide testing programs for students with disabilities to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided and the assessments are completed in accordance with state regulations.
• e. Provides specialized instruction and support to students with significant academic, behavioral, communication, functional, and/or adaptive needs.
• f. Collaborate with general education teachers to support student participation and progress in the least restrictive environment.
• g. Assesses student progress toward learning targets, objectives, expectations and goals to provide feedback to students, parents, and administrators and guide future classroom instruction.
• h. Monitors students in a variety of educational settings (e.g. classroom, playground, hallways, restrooms, field trips, etc.) to provide a safe, secure and positive learning environment.
• i. Establishes and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff by communicating in a professional, courteous and confidential manner and adhering to Burris Laboratory School's social media policy.
• j. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth and attends and participates in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, extra-curricular activities and committees.
• k. Reports incidents (e.g. suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, harassment, zero tolerance offenses, etc.) to administrators to maintain the personal safety of students and provide a positive learning environment that adheres to state law and Ball State University policies.
• l. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Indiana teaching license- K-12, Mild Interventions licensure.

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Indiana teaching license- K-12, Intense Interventions licensure.

Required Certifications

Valid Indiana Teaching License K-12 Mild Interventions Licensure (Preferred Intense Interventions licensure.)
