Job summary

Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Nursing to support RN to BSN and Concurrent Enrollment programs. The role is based on the Victoria Campus with an anticipated January 2027 start date.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced registered nurse and educator, holding MSN or a doctoral degree in nursing or related field, and possessing Texas RN licensure eligibility. You will teach across formats, mentor students, and engage in program assessment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Incorporate evidence-based practice, safety, professionalism, and leadership into instruction.

Texas A&M University-Victoria seeks one full-time Instructor of Nursing to support the RN to BSN and Concurrent Enrollment Nursing programs, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The position is located at the Victoria Campus.

Qualifications

Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Nursing. We seek an experienced registered nurse and educator committed to preparing professional nurses for leadership and practice in an evolving healthcare environment. Candidates must hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Candidates must hold an active, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas or be eligible to obtain Texas RN licensure prior to employment. Candidates should demonstrate professional nursing experience and the ability to teach and mentor students from diverse clinical, educational, and professional backgrounds.

• Teach undergraduate nursing courses in the RN to BSN and Concurrent Enrollment programs in online, traditional, or other instructional formats as assigned;
• Teach courses appropriate to the candidate's education and professional expertise;
• Support registered nurses completing the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and students concurrently completing associate degree and BSN requirements;
• Provide effective academic support, mentoring, and guidance to nursing students;
• Incorporate evidence-based nursing practice, quality and safety principles, professional communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making into instruction;
• Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement;
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, progression, and completion initiatives;
• Collaborate with nursing faculty, academic advisors, and college leadership to support student success;
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community colleges, healthcare organizations, clinical partners, and other regional stakeholders;
• Participate in Nursing Program, College, and University committees and activities; and
• Contribute to the College and University's mission through assigned service.

Preferred Qualifications

• An earned Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), PhD in Nursing, EdD, or other appropriate terminal degree;
• Previous teaching experience in a BSN, RN to BSN, Concurrent Enrollment, or other nursing education program;
• Experience teaching in an online learning environment;
• Experience working with associate degree nursing students and practicing registered nurses returning to complete the BSN;
• Experience with curriculum development, program evaluation, assessment, or nursing accreditation;
• Experience with student advising, mentoring, retention, and progression;
• Current knowledge of professional nursing standards, evidence-based practice, healthcare technology, and contemporary issues affecting nursing practice;
• Experience developing collaborative relationships with community colleges, healthcare systems, and clinical partners; and
• A commitment to preparing nurses to meet the healthcare and workforce needs of South Texas and the Coastal Bend region.
