Job summary

Mchenry County College seeks adjunct instructors to teach assigned classes within its Architectural and Engineering Design Tech, Construction Management Tech, Engineering, and Manufacturing Management Technology divisions. Applicants will follow MCC's syllabus and engage students using effective instructional strategies, with courses scheduled based on the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Teach the assigned class in accordance with learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using engaging instructional strategies.
• Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments.
• Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance, including conferences when needed.
• Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records.
• Use educational technology, e.g., Canvas, as part of instruction.
• Assess student learning and submit required assessment reports.
• Maintain currency in the professional field.
• Course-specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and available in Academic Division Offices.
• Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.

Schedule dependent upon assigned classes. Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement FY24-FY25 through FY26-FY27.

Including but are not limited to:

• Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students
• Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments
• Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary
• Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related data
• Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas)
• Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results
• Maintain currency in professional field

• Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices.
