About this opportunity:

The Department of Anthropology and Sociology invites applicationsfor its temporary, part-time Instructor of Anthropology pool.Applicants selected for the pool may be offered assignments toteach one or two undergraduate courses per semester, depending ondepartmental instructional needs and course availability. These aretemporary appointments and are not permanent or tenure-trackpositions. There is no guarantee of a teaching assignment in anysemester, and opportunities for future assignments are dependent ondepartmental needs.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to beemployed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Applications will be held on file for one year.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Description:

Faculty in the pool may be needed to teach a variety ofundergraduate courses, such as Introduction to CulturalAnthropology, Archaeology and Culture, and Introduction toBiological Anthropology, in either online or in-person formatsduring the fall and spring semesters. Course assignments will varybased on departmental instructional needs and courseavailability.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Anthropology from an accreditedinstitution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Anthropology from an accredited institution anddemonstrated excellence in teaching anthropology at thepostsecondary level. Experience in teaching in-person and onlineclasses. Area of specialization (as evidenced by coursework orteaching experience) congruent with departmental course needs.Commitment to high-quality teaching is essential.
