Gateway Technical College in Wisconsin is seeking two full-time instructors to teach Life Sciences, primarily Biological Sciences and Anatomy & Physiology, to students across diverse backgrounds. One position will be at Kenosha Campus and one at Racine Campus, with potential support at other Gateway locations.

This posting is being used to fill two full-time Instructor, Life Sciences positions:one position based at Gateway's Kenosha Campus and one position based at Gateway's Racine Campus.

The Role in Brief

Gateway faculty facilitate student learning and actively participate in efforts to continually improve student success. As a learning facilitator, you will assess student learning outcomes, evaluate your own teaching effectiveness, and adapt instruction to support student achievement.

In this Life Sciences faculty role, you will primarily teach Biological Sciences and Anatomy & Physiology, working with students across a range of educational backgrounds and learning pathways.

Gateway is hiring two instructors through this posting. One position will be based at the Kenosha Campus and one position will be based at the Racine Campus. Faculty may also support instructional needs at other Gateway locations based on institutional and student needs.

These positions report to the Dean, School of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

What You Will Actually Do

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver approved curriculum and make recommendations as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness.
  • Teach Biological Sciences and Anatomy & Physiology courses.
  • Effectively manage classroom and laboratory learning environments.
  • Monitor and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Provide timely and frequent feedback to students regarding academic performance.

Student Success & Inclusive Learning

  • Promote and participate in student recruitment, retention, and completion efforts.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism and inclusive learning.
  • Work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skill levels.
  • Use student learning management systems and instructional technology to support student engagement and achievement.

Course Delivery & District Support

  • Teach high school and dual enrollment sections, including Vanguard, Contract for Service, and other instructional arrangements as assigned.
  • Serve primarily at the assigned home campus—Kenosha or Racine—while supporting instructional needs throughout the Gateway district as needed.
  • Support Gateway's full college curriculum, which includes teaching students ranging from high school dual credit students to adult learners with varying skill levels.
  • Teach a mix of courses, student populations, locations, and delivery formats based on institutional needs.

Program & Professional Engagement

  • Assist with program evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in advisory and/or institutional committees.
  • Maintain required professional credentials, continue professional development, and remain current in the field and discipline.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry.
  • Communicate laboratory supply needs to laboratory technicians at least two weeks prior to the start of each semester.

Faculty assignments are based on institutional and student needs and may include high school dual credit students, traditional college students, and adult learners across multiple campuses and instructional formats.

What You Need to Succeed

Master's degree in Biological Sciences, OR a master's degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate credits in Anatomy and/or Physiology.

Conditions of Employment

Work Authorization:Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Schedule:Flexibility is needed to accommodate day, evening, and weekend student and business needs.
