Job summary

State of Georgia invites applications for an Instructor and Program Director of the Medical Laboratory Technology program at Southern Crescent Technical College. The role requires leading the MLT program, teaching lab and classroom courses, and coordinating clinical education across campuses.

The candidate will ensure NAACLS compliance, develop curricula, manage resources, and engage with clinical partners to advance student outcomes. Travel between campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in MLS/MLT/Clinical Laboratory Science from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current national certification such as MLS/MT/MLT through ASCP/AMT or equivalent NAACLS-recognized certifying body.
• Minimum of three years of classroom teaching, clinical instruction, or clinical laboratory experience in areas such as clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, molecular diagnostics or blood banking.
• Knowledge of NAACLS accreditation standards, CLIA regulations, and quality assurance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of the MLT program.
• Teach on-campus, laboratory, and online courses (day and evening).
• Prepare lesson plans and develop/update curricula aligned with NAACLS competencies.
• Manage program budgets, equipment, and resources.
• Coordinate with clinical affiliates for student rotations.
• Participate in accreditation activities and program assessment.

Experience coordinating or supervising student clinical education in affiliated healthcare laboratories. Experience with clinical laboratory quality systems, regulatory compliance, and laboratory management.
