Job Summary
Reporting to the campus department instructional leader, instructors provide assistance to students in their learning process by utilizing all appropriate college resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies available to complement the teaching and learning process, thereby directly impacting student success.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Accept and teach classes based on varied schedules and modalities as assigned (may include online or Weekend College).
- Accommodate student needs and external stakeholders’ expectations.
- Aid in developing curricula, including individual course syllabi.
- Prepare and deliver instruction using the approved learning management system.
- Select appropriate textbooks in collaboration with colleagues and adhere to departmental decisions.
- Communicate regularly with students and college officials via email, calls, and meetings.
- Pursue activities to enhance subject matter expertise and instructional skills.
- Prepare assignments and assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
- Maintain an active classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Keep student attendance records and certify enrollments by deadlines.
- Evaluate student performance according to standards and provide timely feedback.
- Post grades weekly and submit final grades on time.
- Assign grades based on course requirements.
- Assist in assessing student and program learning outcomes.
- Accept assignments at other sites as needed.

- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to work schedules.
- Follow College policies, safety procedures, and perform other tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, with at least one of the following: current Medical Assistant certification, licensure in Allied Health, Nursing License, or Medical discipline license.
- Evidence of instruction in educational theory and techniques.
- Three years of relevant non-teaching medical work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in discipline-specific teaching or training.
- Experience with active learning, service learning, and technology in education.
- Experience teaching in Dual Credit and Early College programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications and enterprise systems.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to student needs.
- Knowledge of teaching discipline and pedagogical strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and mentoring.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Includes sitting, handling objects, reaching, talking, occasional standing and walking, lifting up to 10 pounds, and specific vision abilities. Work environment is typically quiet, with occasional exposure to mechanical parts and electrical risks.
