Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) seeks part-time faculty to teach Mathematics and related courses across campuses and online. Roles may include day, evening, and weekend assignments, with in-person, online, or hybrid delivery.Assignments are temporary and depend on course availability and department needs each semester.
All work occurs in Wisconsin. Starting wage is $40 per course hour plus compensation for prep time, equivalent to $70 per hour.

Under the Supervision of the Associate Dean of General Education, to teach Mathematics courses and other related courses as assigned. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties to include in-person (unless otherwise scheduled) participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats.
Must have ONE of the following:
*If teaching MATH 211, 231, 232, 233, or 234, must have a M.S. or PhD in Mathematics OR a graduate mathematics course in Analysis.
Must embrace and demonstrate Standards of Teaching Excellence and the MATC Career Essentials in development and delivery of instruction.
This position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start for the spring semester, approximately mid-January 2027.
This is not for summer teaching assignments.
This is a part-time faculty pool position.
This is an "applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. Work schedule could include in person, online, hybrid, daytime, evening, and weekend teaching assignments. Part-time faculty pool.
Positions include in-person participation in teaching and non-teaching duties and assigned off-campus instruction (including but not limited to community education, workforce solutions, and dual enrollment) based upon College need.
All work must be conducted in the state of Wisconsin.
The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable.
As part of the interview process, selected candidates are required to prepare and present an interactive theory lesson and simulated teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes of the overall interview time, which may be conducted in-person or virtually.
