Description

Seeking candidates with daytime availability during the week to teach ONLY! We do not have any evening positions available at this time. Please only apply if you have morning or afternoons on weekdays free to teach. Under the Supervision of the Associate Dean or designee, to teach Mathematics courses and other related courses as assigned. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
  • Manage the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Only those who meet all of the base minimum requirements listed below will be considered.

Educational requirements: Must have ONE of the following:

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or Math Education, OR;
  • Master's degree with at least 18 graduate level credits in Mathematics, Math Education, or a subfield*

*If teaching MATH 211, 231, 232, 233, or 234, must have 8 credits in calculus, as well as 9 graduate credits in mathematics*

Preferred Qualifications In ADDITION to the Minimums Listed Above:

  • Verifiable occupational work experience in a field other than education.
  • Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including in-person and online.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain curriculum currency.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency (must be able to read, write and speak fluently in both languages)

  • Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology
  • Emerging Technologies - Experience with social networking applications)
Supplemental Information

Start Date: This position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start during the fall 2026 semester, September start date. Seeking candidates with daytime availability during the week to teach ONLY!

Hours: This is a part-time faculty pool position. This is an "applicant pool" posting. Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin; we do not have virtual opportunities for out of state residents. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any combination of the following:

  • Instructional Modality: In-person, online, and/or hybrid

  • Teaching Times: Daytime; weekdays

Salary: The starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable.

Interview

As part of the interview process, selected candidates are required to prepare and present an interactive theory lesson and simulated teaching demonstration lasting 10 minutes of the overall interview time, which may be conducted in-person or virtually.
