Job summary

APV seeks instructors to provide professional military education to officers in the US Air Force and other services, primarily via online instruction. Candidates should show experience in Joint planning and execution across levels of war, with awareness of geopolitics, culture, and regional considerations.

Instructors will complete required faculty development and other AF Global College directives to support mission goals in a remote or Montgomery setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of Intermediate Developmental Education (IDE) and/or Senior Developmental Education. Resident completion preferred but not required.
• JPME Phase I and/or Phase II.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional military education instruction to officers in the US Air Force and other services in Joint and Coalition operations.
• Instruction will be delivered online in almost all cases.
• Candidates must demonstrate experience in Joint planning and execution at all levels of war, considering geopolitics, culture, region, and religion.
• Upon hiring, instructors will complete initial faculty development instruction and other requirements to be identified by the Air Force Global College (AFGC).

Instructors will provide professional military education instruction to officers in the US Air Force and other servicesinJoint and Coalition military operations.Inalmost allcases,instructionwill be delivered online.Candidates mustdemonstrateexperience inJoint planning and execution at all levels of war to include the rolesthatgeopolitics, culture, region, and religion play in shaping planning and execution of joint force operations.The positions requireadeepworkingknowledge ofJoint doctrine,Joint command and control, Jointforceoperations,and Jointrequirementsdevelopment to include command and control, intelligence, fires, movement and maneuver,protectionand sustainment.Upon hiring, instructors willbe requiredto complete initial faculty development instruction and other requirements to beidentifiedby the Air Force Global College (AFGC). The AFGC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and provides competentcontractorand government faculty qualified toaccomplishthe organization’s goals and mission.

PROFESSIONAL (OPERATIONAL) QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s orTerminal degree inmany fields will be considered such as, but not limited to, Military History,Communications Studies, Research Studies, LeadershipStudies,Political Science,Foreign Affairs,Public Policy, Public Administration, National/InternationalSecurityStudies.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Highly-qualifiedcandidateswill haveone or more of the following sets ofexperience:
• Joint and/or Coalition Military Operationsstaff experiencesuch as Combatant Command and/or JointStaffserviceespeciallyinIntelligence (C/J-2),Operations (C/J-3),orPlans and Strategy (C/J-5)
• Combined Air Operations Center
• JointTaskForceorNATOleadership;other Combined plans or operations leadership
• Joint Planning Group
• Squadron or service equivalent commander or higher in combat arms
• Army, Navy, USAF, or USMC service inOperations (A-3, N-3, G-3) or Plans/Strategy(A-5, N-5, G-5)
• Prioronline teaching experience (military or civilian)is a strong plus.
