Job description

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Dean of STEM, this position involves teaching assigned courses in IT Development and IT Support at multiple MATC campuses during day and/or evening programs. Responsibilities include curriculum development, participation in departmental and campus activities, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and deliver instruction; manage the classroom/laboratory.
  2. Develop and revise curriculum; assist in program evaluation.
  3. Manage equipment, supplies, and materials.
  4. Assess student performance and advise students academically.
  5. Collaborate with advisory committees and participate in departmental and institutional meetings.
  6. Promote and support recruitment, retention, and marketing efforts.
  7. Support student organizations and develop relationships with industry partners.
  8. Complete program evaluations and maintain professional development.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  1. Master's Degree in a related field such as Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Business Administration, or closely related areas.
  2. Or a Master's Degree with 18 graduate credits in IT or related fields.
  3. Or a Bachelor's Degree with 14,000 hours of IT work experience or instructional experience.

Occupational Experience: Minimum of two years of IT work experience, with at least one year recent experience or two years of teaching IT courses at the post-secondary level within the last five years.

Certifications: Industry certifications such as CCNA, VMware VCP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, as specified.

Additional Skills
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of student assessment techniques.
  • Ability to meet WTCS and HLC standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate MATC Core Abilities and Standards of Teaching Excellence.
  • Proficiency with essential and supportive technologies, including email systems, Microsoft Office, Blackboard, and other instructional technologies.
Supplemental Information

Start Date: Fall semester or August 2025.

Hours: Up to 32 hours weekly, in-person, multi-campus, during scheduled hours, Monday - Friday.

Salary: Starting at $40 per course hour, plus additional compensation for office hours and prep time.
