Michigan State University is seeking a full-time instructor to teach MKT 250: Business Communication. This role involves managing a large teaching staff and delivering course content to a diverse student body. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a Master's degree in a relevant field.
This position is 100% teaching of MKT 250: Business Communication—Oral and Written Communication, a foundational course in the Broad College of Business undergraduate curriculum. Strong communication skills are essential for business success, and this course equips students with critical competencies in digital media use, delivery mechanics, persuasive speaking, and professional writing. Students will learn to craft executive briefs, memos, and email messages while developing their ability to communicate effectively in business settings.
Assigned duties for the Fall 2025 semester include teaching approximately 600 students across two large lecture sections (3 credits each), leading two recitation sections, and overseeing 8–9 GTAs (Graduate Teaching Assistants) responsible for teaching the remaining 16–18 recitations. The Spring 2026 duties will remain the same, with the additional responsibility of recruiting and hiring GTAs for the 2026–2027 academic year.
We are seeking an energetic, organized instructor who can manage a large group of GTAs, teach a large number of students, and coordinate instructional efforts. The ideal candidate will bring creativity to course delivery, leveraging emerging communication technologies and interactive learning strategies.
This is a full-time, academic-year (AY) appointment at 100% effort.
