Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College is seeking an Instructor for EMS/ Paramedic in the Allied Health division. This is a full-time, 10-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment located at the Leestown Campus with on-campus and online class schedules.

The role requires a working knowledge of EMS education standards, a valid KBEMS instructor certification, and prior paramedic experience to support program quality and student success.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and five years as a Paramedic.
• KBEMS approved EMS educator course and Level III Instructor certification.
• Knowledge of National EMS Scope of Practice and Education Standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration, organization, and supervision of the EMS/Paramedic program.
• Pursue continuous quality review and improvement of the program.
• Participate in long-range planning and development of the program.
• Ensure program effectiveness with demonstrated outcomes and instructor support.
• Collaborate with EMS team and supervise clinical preceptors.

Job Summary

This is a full-time, 10-month, term contract, non-tenure track, faculty appointment available in the EMS/ Paramedic Program in the Allied Health division. This position is currently located on the Leestown campus. The position requires flexibility of scheduling which will include both on campus and online classes

Job Duties

• Participate in the administration, organization, and supervision of the educational program
• Continuous quality review and improvement of the educational program
• Participate in long range planning and ongoing development of the program
• Effectiveness of the program, including instruction and faculty, with systems in place to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program
• Cooperative involvement with the EMS team.
• Participate in the orientation/training and supervision of clinical and field internship preceptors
• Effectiveness and quality of fulfillment of responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree and minimum of five (5) years certified or licensed as a Paramedic.
• Provide documentation that two (2) years of the five (5) years’ experience required is experience providing care with an EMS organization that complies with the requirements.
• Be knowledgeable about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice.
• Provide proof of completion of a KBEMS approved EMS educator course that meets the objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and possess a valid KBEMS Level III Instructor certification.
