Job summary

Bluegrass Community & Technical College seeks a qualified EMS-Paramedic Instructor for the State Fire Rescue Training Area 15/BCTC at the Leestown Campus. The role supports the Academics, & Student Services department and reports to the EMS program leadership.

Candidates must hold an Associate degree, be a licensed Paramedic with five years of field experience, and possess a KBEMS Level III Instructor certification along with a KBEMS-approved EMS educator course.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and five years as a Paramedic.
• Two years of EMS experience with an agency meeting requirements.
• Knowledge of National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards; KBEMS educator course and Level III certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in administration, organization, and supervision of the EMS program.
• Perform continuous quality review and improvement of the educational program.
• Contribute to long-range planning and development of the EMS curriculum.
• Ensure program effectiveness and demonstrate outcomes with appropriate metrics.
• Collaborate with EMS team and supervise clinical/field preceptors.

Job Summary

State Fire Rescue Training Area 15/BCTC is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the position of EMS-Paramedic Instructor.

Job Duties

• The EMS Paramedic Instructor must participate in all aspects of the program, including, but not limited to:
• Participate in the administration, organization, and supervision of the educational program
• Continuous quality review and improvement of the educational program
• Participate in long range planning and ongoing development of the program
• Effectiveness of the program, including instruction and faculty, with systems in place to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program
• Cooperative involvement with the EMS team.
• Participate in the orientation/training and supervision of clinical and field internship preceptors
• Effectiveness and quality of fulfillment of responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates degree and minimum of five (5) years certified or licensed as a Paramedic.
• Provide documentation that two (2) years of the five (5) years' experience required is experience providing care with an EMS organization that complies with the requirements.
• Be knowledgeable about the current versions of the National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice.
• Provide proof of completion of a KBEMS approved EMS educator course that meets the objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and possess a valid KBEMS Level III Instructor certification.
