Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a Part‑Time Faculty Drone Instructor for the Public Safety Training Center in Ohio. The role involves delivering drone program instruction, developing lesson plans, and supporting student learning in a dynamic training environment.

The candidate should have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, with four years of UAS experience and FAA knowledge, plus strong communication and organizational skills. The position is non‑union and pays $25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Significant related experience may substitute for education.
• Minimum of four years UAS operations experience and knowledge of FAA regulations.
• Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills; proficiency with Word Processing and PowerPoint; Internet and Email basics.
• Ability to assess and grade the progress of students.
• Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and prepare lesson plans for established curriculum.
• Deliver training related to the Drone Training program.
• Promote students’ development in critical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving and decision‑making.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of student academic and attendance performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Summary

Provides instructional training related to the Drone program for the Public Safety Training Center.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for providing instruction and preparing lesson plans for established curriculum
• Delivers training related to the Drone Training program
• Continually promotes students’ development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Special Note: This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $25.00/ hour.

Pooled Position - If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure .
