Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line is seeking an Instructor for Driver Safety and Training in Ketchikan Transportation & Guest Services. The role focuses on shaping the next generation of professional motorcoach drivers through classroom and hands-on instruction, with emphasis on safety, standards, and guest service excellence.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience as a driver-guide with Holland America/Princess-Alaska or equivalent experience.
• Current, valid driver's license with three years clean driving record. MVR may be requested.
• Must meet company's clean driver eligibility requirements.
• Current, valid Commercial Driver's License, Class B with air brake endorsement.
• Must be certified as physically qualified through a DOT physical and drug screen.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship cannot be provided at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicates and enforces Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, state and local regulations, and company policies.
• Demonstrates driver-guide techniques and maintenance duties.
• Evaluates student driver's abilities and training progress and documents student driver's skills progress.
• Reports trainees progress to management on a regular basis.
• Maintains records in the appropriate logs.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have previous experience as a driver-guide with Holland America/Princess-Alaska or equivalent experience.
• Current, valid driver's license, with three (3) years clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
• Must meet Company's clean driver eligibility requirements.
• Current, valid Commercial Driver's License, Class B with an air brake endorsement is required.
• Must be certified as physically qualified through a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
• Minimum age of 21 is required.
• Must pass a pre‑employment background check.
• Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princes is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Possess good verbal and writing communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of computer business applications.
• Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
