Job summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a part-time Instructor, Community Recreation (West): Module 3 - Group Exercising to lead diverse group fitness sessions including HIIT, circuit training, boot camp, and more. Classes are offered in person at the Western Campus and virtually, with emphasis on safe technique and participant motivation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR/First Aid certification, and at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Certifications/licenses applicable by discipline.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to enforce safety procedures.

  • Develops and presents the department with a curriculum that accommodates all fitness levels.
  • Sets up in preparation for and cleans up after each class.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description
SUMMARY

Leads dynamic group fitness classes with a focus on HIIT,circuit training, boot camp, step aerobics, line dance aerobics, and Pilatespromoting cardiovascular health, coordination, and community connection.Designs high-energy workouts tailored to a range of fitness levels, deliveredboth in-person and virtually. Prioritizes safe and effective instruction byemphasizing proper technique, appropriate pacing, and ongoing participantmotivation.

Must hold current certifications in one of the following:

Pilates

  • Balanced Body, NPCP STOTT, or BASI (Body Arts and Science International)
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
  • Providesinstruction to students and community members.
  • Develops and presents the department with a curriculum that provides students with a full experience and is structured to accommodate all fitness levels.
  • Sets up in preparation for and cleans up after each class.
  • Performsother duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Certifications/licenses, as applicable by discipline
  • Required CPR/first aid certifications.
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience

  • Possess basic knowledge of fundamental subject area concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to apply in varied
  • situations as it pertains to the departmental focus.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community.

Special Note:Set-RateNon-Bargaining Part-Time Position: This is aPart-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $30.30/hour.

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure .
