• Ensure end-of-course evaluations are collected and reported to leadership.

• Maintain fluency in evolving child welfare and juvenile justice trends.

Job description

The Instructor Coach (IC) provides instructional leadership and workforce development support as part of the Child Welfare Education Partnership (CWEP), collaborating with the Division for Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) to deliver high-quality pre-service and in-service training, individualized coaching, and competency-building activities for DCYF staff and supervisors. This role strengthens child welfare practitioner learning and professional growth by delivering relevant, rigorous, and practice-aligned training grounded in adult learning principles and aligned with DCYF’s strategic priorities.

This IC integrates strategic thinking, family systems frameworks, the DCYF Practice Model, social work theory, juvenile justice concepts, and organizational culture into all training and coaching activities. Working collaboratively with CWEP colleagues and DCYF partners, the IC helps ensure that training is responsive to workforce needs and aligned with statewide expectations in order to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families across NH.

Job Duties

Teaching and Curricula Development

• Primary responsibilities include the instruction and delivery of pre-service and ongoing educational opportunities for DCYF staff. This program is offered in both online and blended formats to meet the needs of busy working professionals.
• Provide consultation on curriculum development, program evaluation, reporting, and faculty recruitment and mentoring
• Responsible for coordinating course material development with Curriculum Specialists and Instructional Designers.
• Providing attendance reports and maintain an up-to-date grade program. Report grades to administrative support staff in a timely manner.
• Ensure evaluations are completed and collected at the end of every course. Submit evaluation data to administrative support staff in a timely manner.
• Provide continuous feedback on training(s) and participant needs to Director and Assistant Director.
• Responsible for own ongoing professional development to ensure fluency in local, state and national trends on child welfare and juvenile justice.

Coaching

• Meet with District Office Supervisors on a periodic basis to identify overarching training needs for their specific teams. Systematically share identified needs with CWEP and DCYF leadership to determine if the need is statewide or specific to that District Office.
• Coordinating on-going training needs of pre-service participants. Create individualized training programs to assist with meeting certification requirements.
• Meet with existing DCYF staff on a regular basis to determine training needs and prepare an individualized training plan to assist with meeting their goals.Collect District Office and individual staff training needs in conjunction with CWEP and DCYF training needs assessment process.
• Administrative Duties:
• Coordinate training schedules with Pre-Service Training Coordinator and other CWEP staff.
• Participate in committees as assigned by DCYF and/or the College.
• Travel as needed to provide training and attend offsite meetings.
• Other duties assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Human Services, Social Work, Juvenile Justice, or Education) and 3 years experience is required.
• A strong proven record of teaching experience in all modalities (face to face, online and blended) and a commitment to teaching excellence is expected.
• Proficiency with current teaching technologies such as learning management systems and e-portfolios is needed.

• Master's degree
• Experience in Juvenile Justice or youth detention.
