Job summary

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand its pool of adjunct faculty to teach one or more CompTIA courses in Non-Credit Computer Education for Workforce Continuing Education. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction on a part-time, temporary basis, with teaching sites that may vary by campus and community locations.

Responsibilities include preparing lessons, maintaining records, using assessments, and counseling students on progress.

Qualifications

  • Three years of related work experience.
  • Associate's degree.

  • Prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour.
  • Instruct and guide the class in an energetic, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Develop a schedule of instruction.
  • Remain up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology.
  • Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Use formative and/or summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching.
  • Design traditional and/or online curriculum.
  • Maintain communication with course committee instructors and participate in instructional discussions.
  • Grade and return student work in a timely manner.
  • Counsel students regarding their grades and progress in the course.
  • Support the Department, Division, and College goals, providing requested data in a timely manner.

Job description

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand the pool of part-time faculty to teach one or more CompTIA courses in Non-Credit Computer Education for Workforce Continuing Education. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis. Teaching sites may vary, depending on the Wake Tech campus location and/or community sites according to the class schedule.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions):
  • Prepares instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives
  • Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
  • Instructs and guides the class in an energetic, efficient, and effective manner
  • Develops a schedule of instruction
  • Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance

  • Uses formative and/or summative assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
