Job Overview

We seek a classroom instructor to prepare students for the written permit test to become Class B Commercial Drivers. This is a per diem, part-time position with flexible scheduling based on the qualified candidate’s availability.

Qualifications

• Driver education instructor license
• At least 22 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Clean driving record

Certifications

• Maine DOE Certification (Background Check) or ability to obtain CHRC
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Meet all state-mandated requirements; full list available upon request.
• If lacking instructor license but meeting other criteria, training may be provided.
• Instruction will be conducted in partnership with CMCC on their Auburn campus.

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of driving experience as a licensed CDL Class A or B operator.

Work Schedule

• Per diem, flexible based on the candidate’s schedule.

Reporting and Terms

Reports to: Director of Franklin County Adult Education.

Terms: As determined annually by the district.

Evaluation: Annually by the Director or designee.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt.
