Job summary

Brains and Motion Education is hiring a STEAM or Sports Instructor to deliver engaging after-school enrichment in Fontana, CA. You will lead activities, mentor students, and foster creativity and teamwork in a safe school setting.

The role emphasizes hands-on projects across coding, robotics, maths, literacy, and sports, with a schedule of 3:00 PM–6:00 PM on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri and 12:00 PM–3:00 PM on Wed. Start 28th September, 2027 through May 26th, 2027.

Qualifications

• At least two years of college coursework (48 semester units), an associate’s degree or higher, or proof of certification meeting ACT requirements.
• 1-2 years of experience in STEM, Arts, and/or Sports subject areas with a passion for youth.
• Enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring; coaching/teaching experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire students in STEAM and/or Sports activities to expand their skills.
• Teach fundamentals from basic to advanced levels, enabling progress at each child’s pace.
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Implement BAM! STEAM/Sports Programs including coding, robotics, maths, literacy, and sports.

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your subject matter expertise in a real-world environment, fostering creativity, teamwork, and personal growth among students. In this role, you will:

• Lead and inspire students in a variety of STEAM and/or Sports-related activities, expanding their imaginations and skill sets.
• Teach the fundamentals of various activities, from basic to advanced levels, ensuring each child can progress at their own pace.
• Foster a positive and collaborative environment, instilling valuable lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Implement BAM! STEAM/Sports Programs, including Python & Scratch Coding, Robotics, LEGO Robotics, Maths, Literacy, Creative Writing, Digital Arts, Game Design, Creative Arts, Music, Animation, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Street Hockey, Flag Football, Cheer leading, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least two years of college coursework (48 semester units), an associate’s degree or higher, or proof of certification through a local assessment that meets the requirements of the "Every Student Succeeds Act".
• 1-2 years of experience in STEM, Arts, and/or Sports subject areas, with a strong passion for sharing your expertise with youth.
• A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring (coaching/teaching experience is highly encouraged).
• Excellent class management skills and the ability to work effectively with students in grades K-8.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license or State ID.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 20-50 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodations.
• Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM and on Wednesday 12:00 PM-3:00 PM
