Wake Technical Community College is seeking an experienced Biology instructor to provide effective instruction for assigned courses at the East Wendell Campus or South Campus in Raleigh, NC. The role requires a Master\'s in Biology (or related field with biology hours) and prior post-secondary teaching experience.

You will design curricula, maintain office hours, assess student progress, and collaborate with other departments to keep courses up-to-date.

• Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
• Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
• Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
• Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
• Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
• Maintains regular office hours
• Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
• Uses assessment techniques to improve student learning outcomes and teaching methods
• Serves on college or department committees as needed
• Attends professional development opportunities when possible
• Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
• Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
• Participates in graduation exercises
• Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark project on an individual or a group basis

This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses.

One position will be located on East (Wendell) Campus and the other will be located on South Campus.

• Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office products including MS Word and Excel

Requires a Master's degree in Biology OR a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in Biology
