Qualifications

  • Experience working with kids in teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, camps, or youth programs.

  • Differentiate instruction for mixed skill levels and learning styles.
  • Maintain safety standards and supervise tools and devices.
  • Participate in daily staff huddles and coaching feedback.
  • Represent the Leto's Legacy brand with professionalism in front of families.
  • Help prepare students to present projects during demos and showcases.

Job description

Leto's Legacy Instructors lead hands-on learning experiences in robotics, coding, AI foundations, engineering design, and maker-style builds. You create a safe, structured, and fun classroom environment where students build real projects, learn core concepts, and leave proud of what they made.

Reports to

Lead Instructor and Curriculum Coach for day to day instruction. Camp Director and Operations Lead for site leadership.

Location

On-site, camp locations as assigned.

What You Will Do
  • Teach assigned Leto's Legacy courses using provided lesson plans and materials.
  • Run a safe, positive classroom culture with clear expectations.
  • Support students during builds, debugging, and group activities.
  • Communicate student progress and classroom needs to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1) Instruction and student engagement
  • Deliver daily lessons with strong pacing and clear explanations.
  • Lead demonstrations, guided practice, independent build time, and wrap-ups.
  • Differentiate instruction for mixed skill levels and learning styles.
  • Keep students engaged using routines, call and response, and structured transitions.
2) Classroom management and safety
  • Maintain safety standards for tools, equipment, devices, and movement.
  • Set clear behavior expectations and respond consistently.
  • Escalate incidents promptly using the camp protocols.
  • Maintain appropriate supervision and accountability at all times.
3) Hands-on project support
  • Help students troubleshoot builds, code, and device issues.
  • Encourage problem solving and teamwork without taking over the project.
  • Ensure projects reach a showable milestone by the end of the week.
  • Track who needs extra help and provide structured support.
4) Preparation and professionalism
  • Review lesson plans before teaching and arrive ready to lead.
  • Keep the classroom organized, materials accounted for, and devices managed.
  • Participate in daily staff huddles and coaching feedback.
  • Represent the Leto's Legacy brand with professionalism in front of families.
5) Parent-facing moments and communication support
  • Share positive student highlights and progress notes when asked.
  • Support check-in and check-out flow when needed.
  • Help prepare students to present projects during demos and showcases.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience working with kids in teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, camps, or youth programs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a group.
  • Reliable, on-time, and prepared.
  • Able to follow curriculum while still teaching with personality and energy.
  • Comfortable learning new tools and platforms quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching STEM, robotics, coding, engineering, or maker education.
  • Familiarity with block-based coding and beginner programming concepts.
  • Experience with classroom management in group settings.
  • CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
