JOB SUMMARY: This position assists teachers with the planning and integration of technology in academic settings, trains teachers to use technology in an effective manner, and assists with curriculum development as it relates to educational technology. This position collaborates on an ongoing basis with the school Technical Support Specialist (TSSPEC); this professional partnership is critical to the success of technology implementation and integration. This position is responsible for modeling instructional strategies, provides training and professional development to staff, supports curriculum, and performs similar kinds of duties and responsibilities as the School Division/Building Administrator deems appropriate. This position must demonstrate the professional ability and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with school personnel and members of the community.

Job Summary

This position works with educators to improve student achievement in all content areas through the effective design and implementation of classroom instruction. Instructional Technology Coach (ITC) duties include providing professional learning and coaching throughout the year for instructional staff, based on assessed Division, school, and/or educator needs. The Instructional Technology Coach position aligns with and supports the PWCS Strategic Plan and school-based Continuous Improvement Plans. This position performs work under the direction of building principal and the guidance of the Department of Information and Instructional Technology.

Essential Responsibilities - specific to this job

• Assesses, and delivers on, the professional learning needs of individuals, teams, and schools with regard to effective implementation of Universal Design for Learning and teaching PWCS Profile of a Graduate knowledge and skills, and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards in the classroom.
• Designs and facilitates projects, courses, workshops, seminars, and trainings in alignment with the PWCS Strategic Plan, PWCS Profile of a Graduate, continuous improvement plans, school goals, the Professional Performance Process Standards, and national standards for professional learning.
• Develops collaborative and professional working relationships with colleagues, school faculty, administrators, and members of the Office of Teaching and Learning, Office of the Chief Information Officer, as well as other offices and departments as needed.
• Serves as a liaison between the Office of the Chief Information Officer and Office of Teaching and Learning programs and initiatives, schools, and other administrative offices as needed.
• Provides coaching to support use of data in development of technical assistance plans and monitoring of strategy implementation by school-based administration and instructional coaches.
• Participates in professional associations, conferences, and training related to instruction and professional learning to maintain knowledge of current trends, research, and effective practice that support student learning.
• Supports administrators and teachers to improve and sustain student achievement through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, observations with growth-producing feedback, and facilitation of teacher reflection.
• Analyzes disaggregated student learning results from a variety of data sources and uses data about participant gains in knowledge and satisfaction levels to determine adult learning needs.
• Maintains frequent contacts and provides assistance to new teachers, lead mentors, mentors, and other teacher leaders.
• Supports delivery of ongoing professional learning aligned with Division priorities and Professional Performance standards.
• Facilitates professional learning experiences in a variety of modes and settings, using engaging and appropriate resources and strategies.
• Provides job-embedded professional learning focused on the integration of technology into instruction through coaching, co-teaching, modeling lessons, sharing ideas, school-wide demonstrations to staff, and co-planning to support adult learning.
• Develops and delivers professional learning to introduce educators to technology integration methods, materials, and instructional strategies proven to increase student achievement.
• Leads educators in integrating technology effectively for differentiating instruction, assessing student learning, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning for all students.
