Essential Responsibilities - specific to this job
Assesses continually student achievement and maintains appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes
Plans and implements appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate kind and level of materials, provides appropriate learning experiences, manages allotted learning time to maximize student achievement, and utilizes a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning
Manages the behavior of learners in an instructional setting to ensure environment is conducive to the learning process and assists and participates in management of student behavior in other parts of the school, center, school grounds, or work site
Coordinates instructional activities with other professional staff, both school and non school-based, as required, to maximize learning opportunities
Works in a self-contained, team, departmental, itinerant capacity, or in field or may make off-school site visits to monitor students, confer with employers, or site instructors
Participates in in-service and professional development activities and staff meetings, as required or assigned
Fosters partnerships and ensures continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress
Communicates continually with students on instructional expectations to keep them informed of their progress in meeting those expectations
Assigns work to and supervises instructional assistants, parent and student volunteers
