Job summary

University of San Francisco is seeking an Instructional Technologist to train faculty and staff in teaching and learning technologies, create self-paced materials, and lead workshops both remotely via Zoom and in person. The role emphasizes accessibility, media production guidance, and alignment with pedagogical best practices.

You will work with DLI staff to support Panopto, Zoom, Poll Everywhere, and other platforms, contribute to AI-related initiatives, and report on training impact and usage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in educational or instructional technology, instructional design, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in training or support in educational technology, multimedia, or communication technologies.
• Experience training or supporting others in video/audio tools and web conferencing.
• Working familiarity with a learning management system (Canvas preferred).
• Working knowledge of digital accessibility standards (WCAG) and captioning workflows.
• Ability to work with faculty and staff at all levels of technical proficiency.
• Experience developing training documentation, tutorials, and job aids.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other productivity applications.
• Customer focused with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead synchronous Zoom-hosted and in-person small-group and one-on-one workshops on teaching and learning technologies and multimedia tools.
• Develop self-paced training materials, tutorials, job aids, and media for faculty and staff at all levels.
• Apply adult learning and instructional design principles in training design and delivery.
• Advise faculty on instructional technology best practices and help them identify tools that fit teaching goals.
• Provide training and consultation on DLI-supported technologies (Panopto, Zoom, Simple Syllabus, Poll Everywhere, Gradescope, Turnitin, Respondus).
• Provide Panopto training and faculty support, including guidance on planning video projects.
• Support faculty using video/audio in teaching and learning, recording with Panopto and Zoom.
• Develop polls and surveys with Poll Everywhere and present in class/meetings.
• Refer faculty to appropriate media teams when needed.
• Prepare monthly reports of training attendance and usage metrics.
• Collaborate with platform admins to relay needs and usage trends.
• Contribute to the monthly DLI newsletter and attend meetings.
