Job Summary
Plan, design, develop and evaluate the effectiveness of learning collateral developed. Work with a wide range of multimedia software including, audio, video, web, animation, and photo to develop materials for online, hybrid, and face to face courses. This position will interact on a regular basis with: faculty and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: faculty and staff. This position will supervise: N/A.
The Instructional Technologist is responsible for integrating technology into the teaching and learning process, collaborating with faculty, instructional designers, and other key partners to design, develop, implement, and evaluate technology-enhanced learning experiences. The primary goal is to enhance education quality through strategic integration of instructional technology tools and methodologies. The role involves designing multimedia content that incorporates sound, full-motion video, text, and graphics into a seamless and interactive application. The focus is on using a production studio, editing software, and implementing all course components within the Learning Platform (LMS). Instructional Design methods and models will be used to create engaging and dynamic instructional content. The role involves working with studio equipment, editing software, learning management systems, information systems, graphics, and delivery protocols for online course design and development. Regular interaction with faculty and staff is required. This position will supervise: N/A.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Design and develop interactive learning content using existing and emerging instructional technologies, while also analyzing and applying trends and best practices in all instructional modalities
Job Duty 2 -
Design and develop engaging learning activities and artifacts such as scripts and storyboards. Design assessment options to include tests, quizzes, and other learning exercises to enhance the learning process
Job Duty 3 -
Use team adopted Project Management software to update leadership and to keep all projects within timeline. Maintaining project documentation and course folders is also required. Use Accessibility standards and guidelines
Job Duty 4 -
Create accessible media objects, multimedia elements and supporting content using the team-supported video editing software and full-function production studio and equipment. Proficient knowledge and skills using a fully functional studio and video editing are required
Job Duty 5 -
Support the learning management system (LMS), including course setup, troubleshooting, and user support for faculty and students
Job Duty 6 -
Collaborate with colleagues on departmental and institute-wide projects, collaborate with subject matter experts and faculty to identify target audience needs, and share responsibility for identifying and applying appropriate instructional techniques and adult learning methodologies
Job Duty 7 -
Identify, evaluate, implement and support existing and emerging technologies and best practices for all learners
Job Duty 8 -
Conduct quality assurance and user testing as needed
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Three to five years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree
Previous working experience with Instructional Technology and Instructional Media (3-5 years)
Current Working Experience With Various LMSs (Canvas Preferred)
In-depth knowledge of various learning theories and instructional design models
Lesson and curriculum design development skills
Basic programming knowledge
Advanced audio/visual/video design and video editing skills (e.g. Adobe Suite)
Premiere Pro or similar expertise required
Ability to write instructional text, audio, and video scripts required
Proficient knowledge and use of a full production studio equipment required
Ability to use entire Microsoft Office Suite required
Have or obtain Quality Matters APPQMR Certification

Use of office and specialized computer applications is required.
