Job summary

Children's of Alabama is seeking an Instructional Systems Technologist II to join the Instructional Systems & Technology Team on the Main Campus. The role provides advanced support for meeting and collaboration space technologies and develops technology-enhanced training initiatives.

The IST II will work full-time on days, collaborate with IT and AV teams, and require strong technical skills across Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and video conferencing platforms; CTS/Qaulifications are preferred for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical area qualification required.
• CTS preferred; AQAV CQD a plus.
• 3–5 years of directly related experience.
• Experience with Cisco Webex, Webex Meetings, Webex Teams or Zoom.
• Strong familiarity with Windows, Mac OS X and iOS.
• Ability to read AV drawings and room layouts.
• Experience designing and supporting AV systems.
• Knowledge of network protocols and technologies.
• CQ / CTS certification preferred for professional growth.

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift shift, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Role Overview

The Instructional Systems Technologist II (IST II) joins an energetic Instructional Systems & Technology Team in their mission to provide advanced level support for meeting/collaboration space technologies, and development of technology enhanced training initiatives.

Education

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or other appropriate technical area qualification, or combination of technical education, training and experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in audiovisual, media technology, Instructional Design, or computer science related field. CTS preferred; AQAV CQD a plus.

Experience

• Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of directly related experience.
  • Video conferencing solutions such as Cisco telepresence systems, Webex Meetings, Webex Teams, or Zoom.
  • Media control and monitoring systems, e.g., Crestron, codecs, switchers, and audio DSPs.
  • Strong technical experience with Windows 7/11, Mac OS X, and iOS operating systems.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience designing, supporting, and integrating AV systems and equipment.
  • Ability to reach and comprehend AV system drawings, specifications, technical manuals including wall elevations, RCPs, room layouts, system schematics, etc.
  • Network protocols and technologies.
  • Strong technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, and editing software.

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registries

• Preferred
  • CTS certification.
  • Demonstrated record of commitment to ongoing professional development.

Education with Equivalent Qualifications

Essential: Bachelors of Science or Arts or Masters Degree.

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications

Essential: 3 Years Staff Level.
