Job summary

HQ AETC/A3J contract team at Joint Base San Antonio Randolph seeks an Instructional Systems Designer to develop and update Air Force readiness training. You’ll craft blended learning experiences using adult learning theories and industry best practices, coordinating with PMs, programmers, editors, and SMEs to deliver compliant, effective curricula.

Responsibilities include applying ADDIE lifecycle, converting content with Articulate, Captivate, and other tools, and ensuring materials meet SCORM

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Experience with instructional systems design and curriculum development at post-secondary level or equivalent.
  • Ability to translate source material into concise learning products.

  • Collaborate with project managers, programmers, designers, and SMEs to create training curriculum.
  • Ensure training content aligns with SCORM and Section 508 requirements.

The Opportunity:

Support for HQ AETC A3/6 to ensure training and resources are planned, programmed, and budgeted to develop, update, and add to the AETC A3/6 Air Force Readiness Training and Security Cooperation (SC) training analysis activities. Work includes competencies development requirements for training analysis activities to include competency-based training development and analysis for USAF readiness and AETC courses. Support to these activities include program management, assessment, analysis, subject matter expertise, pipeline management and scheduling, registrar, curriculum and courseware development, and technical services.

Responsibilities:

The Instructional Systems Designer will serve as a member of the CACI contract team supporting U.S. Air Force (USAF) Headquarters, Air Education and Training Command's Competencies Division (HQ AETC/A3J) in the Directorate for Operations and Communications (HQ AETC/A3/6) at Joint Base San Antonio Randolph in San Antonio, Texas.

Develop training products using a systematic approach, adult learning theories, learning technologies, competency-based learning, and industry best practices for instructional design to create blended learning experiences that support customer and project objectives.

Work closely with team members, including project managers, programmers, graphics artists, and editors/quality assurance specialists and collaborate with customers and subject matter experts to develop training curriculum.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Experience with Instructional Systems Design, Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) instructional design, and curriculum development at the post-secondary, or equivalent, level and applying the ADDIE methodology to the full life cycle of course development.
  • Experience developing learning content in Articulate, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Lectora, or other Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) authoring software.
  • Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into well-written, concise learning products and ability to develop strategies for on-line learning.
  • Experience in conversion of training materials for IMI using current software/technologies.
  • Experience with online/blended learning education and training development and maintenance.
  • Experience developing training content compliant with Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM®) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
  • Experience testing IMI Alpha, Beta, and final SCORM packages.

  • An understanding of US Air Force foundational and occupational competencies.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$58,500 - $122,800
