Job description

Our learning programs provide teachers with the ability to differentiate instruction, monitor progress, and support learners in their journey toward success.

From English learners, multilingual students, bilingual students and dual language learners who are struggling to read or write, Summit K12’s online, standards-based supplemental curriculum will close gaps and ensure growth for all students.

Summit K12 is seeking Instructional Support Specialists with experience in teaching, coaching, or school leadership to join our national Professional Development Team. The ideal candidate has a robust understanding of language development. The Instructional Coach will provide onsite and online high-quality professional development for teachers and leaders who are implementing our Summit K12 Connect to Literacy solution. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in teaching, coaching, leadership, curriculum knowledge, professional development delivery, and a deep understanding of instructional strategies and pedagogy to support English learners. The goal is to empower teachers and school leaders to effectively implement evidence-based practices aligned to our solutions, thereby nurturing an environment conducive to student success.

Territory:
The ideal candidate must currently reside in the state of Texas, with a preference for candidates located in the following areas: Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Austin, The Rio Grande Valley, or San Antonio. Candidates from other regions in Texas may also be considered.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Professional Development Delivery:

  • Plan, organize, conduct, and facilitate online and on-site professional development learning on Summit K12 solutions.

2. Implementation Success

  • Ensure Successful Implementations: Empower teachers and school leaders to effectively implement evidence-based practices aligned to our solution, thereby nurturing an environment conducive to student success.

3. Expertise in Solutions:

  • Become an expert in our company's online English Language Development solution (Connect to Literacy).

4. Data Utilization

  • Leverage data dashboards to analyze and present key metrics that demonstrate the impact of the company’s educational solutions on student outcomes.

  • Train leaders on how to effectively use data dashboards to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions.

  • Continuously monitor and interpret dashboard data to provide actionable insights to both internal teams and district partners.

5.Organization and Flexibility:

  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills and ability to pivot easily in a high-demanding environment.

6. Expertise and Learning

  • Commit to Continuous Learning: Commit to life-long learning and professional development, including staying up-to-date on evidence-based practices.

7. Support and Coaching:

  • Facilitate LMS navigational support, demonstration lessons, individual coaching sessions, and leadership sessions (planning and support).

8.Adapt and Improve:

  • Proactively seek out feedback and adapt practices based on feedback and what leads to improved student outcomes.

9. Collaboration

  • Collaborate for Excellence: Collaborate with other team members, both within the PD team and across departments, to ensure that materials, methods, and professional learning meet the highest standards to achieve optimal results.

10. Promote Classroom Equity:

  • Ensure classroom equity through tailored professional development sessions for teachers, coaches, and leaders.


TRAVEL: Willingness to travel within the state of Texas (30-50%).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Passionate about multilingualism and deep understanding of English Language Learners.

  2. Demonstrate a robust understanding of best practices in supporting multilingual learners.

  3. 5+ years teaching experience leading sustained coaching sessions and professional development for educators in K-12.

  4. Able to analyze data and use it to inform practice, and get results.

  1. Proficiency in providing support to educators through both online and in-person learning platforms.

  1. Demonstrate effectiveness in time management amidst competing priorities.

  2. Strong oral and written communication skills.

  3. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology-based productivity tools including Microsoft and Google Applications.

ADVANCED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 10+ years of K–12 teaching and leadership experience, leading to demonstrable results for students.

  2. Master’s or Advanced degree in education.

  3. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  4. Collaborate with district and school leaders to develop and refine annual professional development plans.

  5. Experience working on collaborative projects with leaders and teachers.

  6. Proven knowledge of adult learning principles and experience applying them when delivering learning experiences to adults.

  7. High comfort with navigating ambiguity and responding confidently to in-the-moment challenges or concerns in order to meet customer needs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Equipment: This position requires reliable home internet that can support video calls on Google Meet and Zoom and a quiet, professional place to deliver remote professional development.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be willing to travel:

Travel is required and considered an essential function of the job. Travel includes overnight stays at hotels and transportation via car, plane, and/or public transportation. Driving in small and large cities is required. All travel-related expenses for professional development delivery are initially paid in advance by the Instructional Coach (eg, lodging, daily meals). Reimbursements for these expenses - including mileage if driving your own car and compensation for time traveling - will be processed 2–3 weeks following submission of the expense reimbursement requests.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

$80,000 - $95,000 annually

At Summit K12, we are committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices. The posted salary range reflects the scope of the role and current market benchmarks. Final compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, your experience, skills, and qualifications. All offers are made with consideration for the individual candidate’s background and the needs of the role.
