Key Instructional Aide Duties & Responsibilities

Instructional Support

• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning materials and skills introduced by certified staff.
• Provide one‑on‑one support for students with special needs or learning accommodations.
• Guide students through classroom assignments, homework, and projects.

Classroom Management & Supervision

• Monitor and control student behavior in classrooms.
• Implement classroom management strategies and rules established by the teacher.
• Operate office equipment (e.g., copiers, scanners, computers).
• Provide emotional support, encouragement, and guidance to students.
• Report student progress, behavioral, or academic concerns to teachers.

Other Duties

• Support substitute teachers in the absence of regular staff.
