Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Paraprofessional Certification or 60 semester hours at a college level.
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group instruction as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist in implementing behavior modification plans.
• Direct students in personal management skills.
• Direct students in personal hygiene skills for special education/primary grades.
• Assist SPED students when integrated into general education classrooms.
• Assist students during community outings and classroom field trips.
• Supervise students and maintain classroom routine when the teacher is away.
• Assist with alternate forms of communication.
• Prepare instructional materials as requested by the teacher.
• Assist in preparing learning centers and activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and progress.
• Attend in-service training as determined by Wa-Nee Community Schools.
