Job summary

Tucson Unified School District seeks a part-time reading instructor for Fruchthendler Elementary School to support the Reading & Comprehension curriculum. This position is 2 hours per day with no district benefits for under 30 hours weekly.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, two years of youth experience, and preferred bilingual English/Spanish communication skills. Documentation must be provided at hire.

SUMMARY

Instruct students in Reading & Comprehension related to TUSD curriculum.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Two (2) years of experience with youth
• Associate’s (or higher) degree or Completion of an AZ Department of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test OR 60 Semester-Hour credits at an institute of higher learning (Copy of diploma, transcripts or test results must be submitted at time of hire).
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as a teacher aide.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
