Georgia Southern University is seeking an Instructional Services Coordinator at the Armstrong Campus in Savannah to support faculty and graduate teaching assistants in becoming educators, researchers, leaders, and scholars committed to excellence. Qualifications

  • Master's degree and higher education teaching experience.
  • Experience developing and leading faculty training initiatives.
  • Familiarity with research on effective teaching strategies and classroom implementation.
  • Experience working independently as well as cooperatively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Train and support faculty in technical and pedagogical skills for face-to-face, online, blended, flipped and Hybrid courses.
  • Adapt instructional materials across course formats (face to face, flipped, blended, Hybrid, or online).
  • Review courses for accessibility, web accessibility guidelines and copyright compliance.
  • Consult with degree program faculty teams to design, develop, and implement courses and learning tech tools for online programs.
  • Develop multimedia tutorials and instructional materials for faculty.
  • Coordinate media/video/audio with faculty to design interactive courses.
  • Advance LMS usage and best practices; support faculty development workshops.
  • Consult with faculty teams developing courses and programs; design tailored workshops.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Faculty Center, this positionsupports faculty and graduate teaching assistants in realizingtheir potential as educators, researchers, leaders, and scholarscommitted to excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to join acollaborative, innovative team as we transition from the Center forTeaching Excellence to a Faculty Center with a broader mission forfaculty support including research, scholarship, leadership, andteaching. This position will build on existing programs whileintroducing new initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Train and support faculty in the technical and pedagogicalskills necessary to deliver quality face-to-face, online, blended,flipped and Hybrid courses and learning content
  • Assist faculty in adaptation of instructional materials fromone course format to another (face to face, flipped, blended,Hybrid, or online)
  • Review courses to ensure compliance with nationally-recognizedhigher education course design standards, web accessibilityguidelines and copyright laws
  • Consult with degree program faculty teams to design, develop,and implement courses and related external learning technologytools for online degree programs
  • Develop multimedia tutorials and instructional materials forfaculty
  • Coordinate media/video/audio with faculty to design, develop,and teach media-rich, highly interactive courses that provide astudent-centered, authentic learning experience
  • Guide faculty in creative and effective use of available campustechnologies
  • Advance the usage and best practices of the University¿sLearning Management System (LMS)
  • Serve as a consultant to faculty teams developingcourses/programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design, deliver and assesstailored workshops for faculty including but not limited to,technology trainings, pedagogical trainings, and course designinstitutes
  • Support faculty development initiatives by working withcolleagues and other campus units to develop, implement, andcoordinate projects and services to address faculty needs
  • Facilitate consultations, observations, and student feedbackfor all course modalities
  • Support the use of high impact education practices (HIPs)across all course modalities
  • Remain current on best practices in teaching and learning andfaculty development
Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Experience teaching in higher education

  • Experience with a wide variety of educational technologies andtheir implementation in face-to-face, flipped, online and blendedcourse modalities (G-Suite, Adobe Creative Suite,Perusall,
  • Nearpod, Articulate, Camtasia, Lightboard)
  • Experience with Open Education Resources (OER) and CreativeCommons Licensing
  • Experience designing mentoring programs and career-stageprogramming
  • Experience designing support for faculty research, scholarshipand leadership development
  • Familiarity with research and implementation of effectiveteaching strategies for technology rich learningenvironments
  • Experience conducting course reviews/classroomobservations
Proposed Salary

$63,000 - $66,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthlybasis.
