Instructional Multimedia Designer

Description

Whelen is seeking a Strategic Instructional Multimedia Designer to bridge the gap between creative video production, systems administration, and technical infrastructure. In this role, you will take full ownership of our public facing Learning Management System (LMS) in the Training Department, while producing cinematic high-impact based instructional content. Partnering closely with the Training Manager, Director of Sales, aligning with Technology Teams, and supporting the Regional Training Specialists, you will leverage your management experience and ERP/LMS workflows to deploy innovative training programs across the sales organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
LMS Administration & Ownership
  • System Management: Serve as the primary administrator for the LMS, managing user profiles, permissions, system updates, salesforce migration, and overall digital architecture.
  • Technology Alignment: Partner closely with Technology Teams to ensure innovation and creative content integrate into our LMS course modules. .
  • Workflow Integration: Utilize LMS software to manage complex project workflows, track course compliance, and optimize the user learning experience.
  • Data Analytics: Partner with the Training Manager to pull data, analyze training metrics, and report on the effectiveness of educational programs.
  • Targeted Campaigns: Develop and execute targeted LMS communication campaigns that proactively notify distributors, end users, and sales teams of newly available training content relevant to their responsibilities, driving engagement, knowledge development, and performance improvement.
Multimedia & Video Production
  • End-to-End Production: Direct, script, shoot, and edit high-quality instructional videos and multimedia assets that clarify complex technical concepts.
  • Instructional Design: Translate operational goals and training manuals into highly engaging, modern visual learning paths.
  • Regional Support: Collaborate with Regional Training Specialists to tailor multimedia content for localized training needs and field environments.
  • Vision & Innovation Leadership: Partner with the Directors of Sales to identify training opportunities, conceptualize innovative learning solutions, and bring strategic training initiatives to life through engaging multimedia experiences that support business objectives, drive user adoption, and enhance organizational performance.
Project Leadership & Collaboration
  • Field Optimization: Act as a central hub to ensure Regional Training Specialists are equipped with the latest digital media tools and platform updates.
  • Resource Management: Apply your management experience to oversee budgets, equipment inventory, production schedules, and cross-functional project teams.
  • Strategic Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with the Training Manager and Director of Sales to identify educational gaps and map out content release schedules.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the liaison between technical teams and field training teams to seamlessly integrate learning tools with broader LMS software workflows.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Communications with a specific focus in Videography, Video Production, or Digital Media.
  • Experience: Proven professional management experience, with a track record of handling multiple multimedia projects and cross-functional team workflows simultaneously.
  • Software Expertise: 3+ years hands-on experience with LMS platforms (administration level) or ERP software tools to oversee data and enterprise workflows.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency with professional video production gear.
  • Leadership Traits: A strong ownership mindset, excellent organizational skills, and the communication clarity needed to align technical groups with remote regional teams to produce engaging courses for our public facing customers.
