Job summary

St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Albany, NY is seeking a Teaching and Learning Specialist to provide instructional leadership across grade levels and subjects.

You will partner with the Principal, teachers, and service providers to design engaging lessons, embed social-emotional learning, and implement evidence-based practices aligned with NY standards. The role focuses on mentoring, co-teaching, MTSS coordination, data-informed instruction, and continuous instructional improvement to

Qualifications

• Experience with curriculum development, instructional planning, and implementation.
• Knowledge of the New York State Learning Standards and NYSED Portrait of a Graduate.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction across grade levels.

Responsibilities

• Model effective instructional practices through demonstration lessons, coaching, and co-teaching.
• Support peer observation and professional learning to promote continuous improvement.
• Promote evidence-based literacy practices to support student achievement.
• Support teachers in selecting instructional materials, resources, and interventions.
• Facilitate MTSS implementation and use of student data to guide decisions.
