Under the direction of a Dean or assigned supervisor, oversee students' learning and practicing skills in veterinary nursing and animal care and handling in an instructional live laboratory; tutor, remediate, and provide instructional assistance to students; provide assistance to faculty; and perform technical work to maintain the Veterinary Technology program.
Established in 1925, Ventura College was one of California’s first community colleges and currently enrolls 14,500 students. Located approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara, the 112-acre campus is set in the rolling hills of Ventura, close to the ocean with views of the Channel Islands from several campus spots.

The Ventura County Community College District (VCCCD) is a public district serving residents throughout Ventura County. Minimum qualifications: Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, or a related field; two years of veterinary technician experience; one year of experience working with students.
Must possess or obtain a valid Registered Veterinary Technician license from the California State Veterinary Medical Association before completing probation. Valid CPR and First Aid certificates are also required.
