Standard Middle School in Bakersfield, California, seeks an Instructional Intervention Aide, K, to assist in planning and implementing programs for regular and special needs students under supervision of site administrator and certificated staff.

Responsibilities and Duties

Under the supervision of the site administrator and the direction of a certificated staff member, performs the necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for the regular and special needs of children in the classroom.

Education/Certification

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree, two years of study at an institute of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment required by No Child Left Behind Act.
• CPR training. Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Ability to work well with children
• Ability to communicate effectively

Experience

• Background to include activities that involve students and an interest in working with school age children.
• Experience working in an instructional environment.
• Experience or education in the areas of child development.

Salary

Range 8, $17.33 - $21.64 per hour based on 10 steps. (Additional $0.32 in lieu of benefits).
