Glenview Community Consolidated School District 34 seeks an Instructional Innovation Specialist for the 2026-27 school year to support Grades K-2. The role emphasizes information literacy, inquiry and design thinking, and professional development to enhance curriculum and instructional practices.
You will collaborate with teachers and staff across the district to differentiate support and build capacity in acquiring, evaluating, and using information resources for student learning.
An Instructional Innovation Specialist is needed for the 2026-27 school year (Grades K-2).
The Instructional Innovation Specialists work with teachers and students to facilitate access to information in a wide variety of formats. They consult, collaborate and co-teach to increase teacher knowledge and capacity in acquiring, evaluating, and using information and instructional resources... how to acquire, evaluate and use information and instructional resources needed to implement the District 34 Learning Process and curriculum. The Instructional Innovation Specialists differentiate their support to educators and students in the areas of inquiry and design thinking while focusing on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, digital literature, and other resources to support/enhance the curriculum, and instructional process. The ultimate goal is to prepare students to be effective users/synthesizers of ideas and information. At a district level, Instructional Innovation Specialists collaborate in an ongoing manner with Library Resource Center Directors and Instructional Coaches to provide district-wide and building-level professional development.
Full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month teaching position starting August 2026 through early June 2027. Certified Staff work 185 days per school year.
