Job summary

Texas A&M University - Texarkana is seeking an Instructional Designer II to plan, design, and develop high-quality digital education content in support of pedagogic transformation across the campus. You will collaborate with faculty to select strategies, software, and technologies to achieve learning outcomes and facilitate faculty and staff development in digital learning.

Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and experience with WCAG/UDL, HTML/CSS, and multiple authoring tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience in instructional design.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Knowledge of online course design principles and practices.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional technologies.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support faculty in the development of online courses utilizing available learning technologies.
• Provide development support to faculty in course redesign for effective digital education.
• Support the identification, exploration and implementation of technologies that aid the advancement of program and institutional goals
• Collaborate with the LMS administrator to refine, improve, and innovate processes related to digital education.
• Participate in faculty, staff, and student training and development of guides and informational resources.
• Experiment with and remain current in new and emerging technologies, including software, hardware, mobile, and cloud technologies that can enhance digital education.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to faculty and students as it pertains to the LMS (Canvas) and other technologies used for teaching and learning.
