Job summary

Texas A&M University - Texarkana is seeking an Instructional Designer II to plan, design, and develop high-quality digital education content. You will support faculty in transforming pedagogy, select suitable strategies and technologies, and help create faculty/staff educational opportunities around digital learning.

The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty and the LMS team, ensuring accessible, effective online courses and ongoing professional development for instructors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience in instructional design.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Knowledge of online course design principles and practices.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and instructional technologies.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to present information clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support faculty in developing online courses utilizing available learning technologies.
• Provide development support to faculty in course redesign for effective digital education.
• Support identification, exploration and implementation of technologies that aid program and institutional goals.
• Collaborate with the LMS administrator to refine, improve, and innovate processes related to digital education.
• Participate in faculty, staff, and student training and development of guides and informational resources.
• Experiment with and stay current in new technologies including software, hardware, mobile, and cloud tech to enhance digital education.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to faculty and students regarding the LMS (Canvas) and other teaching tools.
