Job summary

Zillion Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Instructional Designer to plan and manage instructional design projects across the organization. You will develop courses tailored to learning outcomes and collaborate to educate employees to improve performance.

The role involves creating curricula, applying modern technologies, and producing LMS activities and reports. On-site in Vienna, VA with some remote work, offering a competitive hourly W2 rate and ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, or training development.
• Experience designing instructional content and curricula.
• Familiarity with evaluating course effectiveness and learning outcomes.
• Knowledge of instructional theories and educational psychology.
• Working knowledge of instructional design practices and models.

This is the targeted compensation range for this role per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.

Description

Basic Purpose:
To plan and manage instructional design projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization. Develop instructional courses tailored to meet the desired learning outcomes and needs of and the learners. Collaborate to implement strategies for educating and training employees to achieve higher levels of performance. Utilize a variety of techniques to define and sequence instructional content and strategies. Create curricula by quickly and efficiently learning/processing large volumes of information and by conducting research on subject matter. Remain supportive of business unit/organizational training needs and refresh the training and materials as needed throughout its lifecycle. Work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with others to plan and design courses and curricula; ensure accuracy of content and test multimedia elements - Assist in leading
• Conduct needs assessment on request from business unit management to provide customized training or individual guidance to improve and develop performance - Advanced analysis
• Create and edit new LMS learning activities; set up required training assignments in LMS; create custom LMS reports
• Create dynamic instructional and training materials using current technologies including references and support tools that reinforce training, increase efficiency and help produce error free work - Advanced
• Develop and test course content, training games, graphic designs and other technology driven products - Advanced
• Develop classroom, on-line and/or independent learning program content that transfers knowledge effectively and brings about desired behavior change - Advanced
• Develop instructional strategies and courses for a business unit and/or cross-company products and skills - Advanced
• Evaluate the effectiveness of courses, learning products and delivery methods to ensure that the desired learning objectives and goals are achieved - Advanced
• Involved in instructional design project teams with multiple deliverables, significant risk and complexity - Assist in leading
• Select most effective instructional approach including a blend of instructor-led and/or self directed techniques - Advanced

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, business, communication, behavioral sciences, training development or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
• Ability to adapt to fluctuating work-flow
• Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely
• Experience in evaluating the effectiveness of courses and learning products and delivery methods
• Experience in researching/writing course content and/or developing courses, demonstrations, graphic designs and other technology driven products
