Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families, Office of Quality and Innovation, seeks an Education Curriculum Developer Specialist to lead adult workforce design initiatives in Tallahassee. You will craft and evaluate training resources, ensure 508 accessibility, and pilot new programs for statewide impact.

Ideal candidates bring instructional design expertise, knowledge of adult learning theories, and proficiency with Articulate Storyline and multimedia tools to deliver accessible trainings

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in instructional design/curriculum development for adult learners in the workforce.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • One (1) or more years of experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint creating presentations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in instructional technology and multimedia development tools, including Articulate, Well Said Labs, Vyond, CANVA, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • 3 or more years of experience in instructional design/curriculum development for a workforce
  • One (1) year of experience of working with Learning Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as an instructional designer on the CurriculumDevelopmentTeam (CDT).
  • Using instructional design methodologies to develop and/or evaluate various workforce learning resources such as trainings, training programs, and specialty courses based on the analysis of Department needs.
  • Ensuring training meets 508 accessibility, usability, and functionality standards for classroom, online, self-study, and blended learning opportunities.
  • Piloting new trainings when appropriate to ensure necessary changes and revisions are made before implementation.
  • Assisting program offices in the planning and development of pilot learning programs, evaluating results, and using the findings to establish new or modified learning programs.
  • Participating in or facilitating curriculum review committees with other program training managers or coordinators, to collaborate about the needs of training across program areas and the Department.
  • Assisting team members responsible for working with program office training managers to collect materials and coordinate a revision calendar to schedule when curriculum needs to be updated.
  • Reviewing historical training to determine if training will benefit from eLearning technology resources.
  • Working with the Quality Assurance Specialist to update a training resource library with trainings collected from program offices and hospitals statewide.
  • Supporting the LMS team to maintain and update courses available through the Department’s Learning Management System – My FL Learn.
  • Creating training for statewide implementation and setting expectations for which parts of the curriculum must be covered statewide.
  • Other duties as assigned.
