HireArt is recruiting an Instructional Designer for its BaseOPS Technical Training team in San Francisco, CA. You will partner with SMEs and cross-functional teams to transform technical information into scalable learning experiences for autonomous vehicle technologies.

The role emphasizes adult learning principles, content development, and measurable business outcomes, with travel up to 15% and onsite work in the SF Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of instructional design experience developing blended learning solutions (OLT, ILT, vILT).
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Experience designing learning evaluation plans and measuring training effectiveness.
• Portfolio of instructional design work samples.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging learning solutions aligned with objectives, business goals, and technical training needs.
• Develop curricula for ILT, vILT, OLT, workshops, and eLearning programs with SMEs and cross-functional teams.
• Create interactive eLearning content using modern authoring tools to be clear, engaging, and effective.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and metrics, and improve content accordingly.
• Create materials that align with branding, style guides, and documentation standards.

Expected compensation: 67.78 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a skilled and passionate Instructional Designer to join its BaseOPS Technical Training team.

In this role, you'll partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders to transform complex technical information into engaging, scalable learning experiences. You'll design and develop training that equips teams with the knowledge and skills needed to safely operate, service, and support autonomous vehicle technologies.

The ideal candidate is an experienced instructional designer with a strong understanding of adult learning principles, exceptional content development skills, and a passion for creating impactful learning experiences that drive measurable business outcomes.

As An Instructional Designer, You'll

• Design engaging learning solutions that align instructional objectives with business goals and technical training needs.
• Partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to develop curricula for instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), online learning (OLT), workshops, and eLearning programs.
• Develop interactive eLearning content using modern authoring tools, ensuring content is clear, engaging, and instructionally effective.
• Evaluate training effectiveness through learner feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and continuously improve content based on results.
• Create learning materials that align with company branding, style guides, and documentation standards.
• Streamline content development processes by leveraging templates, best practices, and authoring tools to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality.
• Collaborate with product experts, service leaders, program managers, and technicians to ensure training reflects current products, processes, and strategic priorities.
• Facilitate planning sessions and synthesize stakeholder feedback into clear, actionable learning strategies.
• Travel up to 15% as needed to support training initiatives across business locations.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of instructional design experience developing blended learning solutions, including OLT, ILT, and vILT
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
• Experience designing learning evaluation plans and measuring training effectiveness
• Strong conceptual design skills with the ability to visualize learner journeys and instructional flows
• Experience using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline), Camtasia, Vyond, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Portfolio of instructional design work samples

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the automotive, electric vehicle, collision repair, or related industries
• Experience developing technical training for engineering, manufacturing, service, or operations teams
• Experience working in Agile development environments

This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the San Francisco, CA area.
