Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related field
• 2+ years of experience in instructional design/training development
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning theory
• Familiarity with eLearning (Storyline, Rise) and other formats (ILT, blended, microlearning)
• Understanding of accessibility standards for learning content
• Ability to manage multiple projects and learn new tools quickly

Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $57,200.00 – $95,300.00. This role is eligible for an incentive target of up to 5%, based on the achievement of individual and company performance objectives in accordance with the current terms of the incentive program which are subject to change.

The Instructional Designer develops engaging and effective learning solutions to support employee performance and organizational goals. The role applies instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create high-quality, learner-centered content. The Instructional Designer collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to assess training needs and deliver impactful, blended educational experiences. The role also emphasizes continuous improvement by integrating feedback and staying current with emerging trends in learning technologies.

This position to be located in Lake Forest, IL with office presence at least 1x per week; remote/virtual may be considered for candidates outside the Lake Forest/Chicago area.

You Will

• Designs and develops blended training materials to help employees quickly acquire essential knowledge and skills for their roles from a variety of learning and development strategies.
• Applies instructional design methodologies and collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure learning solutions are accurate, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
• Creates engaging learning experiences in various formats, making training accessible and relevant for diverse audiences and operational needs.
• Translates complex information into practical resources and eLearning modules so learners can easily understand and apply new concepts.
• Manages multiple projects and deliverables to provide timely training solutions that support business priorities.
• Regularly updates and improves training content to reflect current practices, integrate feedback, and maintain consistency with organizational standards.

You Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communication, or another related field required
• 2+ years of experience in related field preferred
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning theory, and best practices in training development.
• Familiarity with a range of learning modalities, including eLearning (e.g., Storyline, Rise, Camtasia), instructor-led, blended, and microlearning.
• Understanding of virtual immersive simulation technologies and their application in learning.
• Awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles for learning content.
• Applies project management practices to organize work, track milestones, and manage multiple concurrent priorities.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new authoring technologies and learning platforms.
• Continuing Education learning certificates preferred
