Job description

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to design and develop engaging, effective training materials for internal business applications, systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, experience leveraging AI tools to streamline training content development, and the ability to translate complex business processes into clear, user-friendly learning experiences.

This role will support a Global Business Services organization responsible for developing internal applications and tools used by various business functions, including Human Resources and other operational teams. The Instructional Designer will create training that helps employees and managers understand, navigate, and effectively use these applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging training materials across multiple formats, including e-learning, instructor-led training (ILT), and virtual instructor-led training (VILT).
• Leverage AI tools to support instructional design, content creation, and training development processes.
• Develop application-based training materials, including system walkthroughs, process documentation, user guides, and interactive learning experiences.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, validate content, and incorporate feedback.
• Apply instructional design methodologies, including the ADDIE model and adult learning principles, to create effective, audience-specific learning solutions.
• Translate business processes and application functionality into clear, accessible training materials for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Recommend appropriate instructional strategies and delivery methods based on learning objectives and business needs.
• Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, milestones, and deliverables are met.
• Proactively communicate project updates, identify potential challenges, and manage changes in project scope.
• Support training delivery, evaluate learning effectiveness, and continuously improve materials based on stakeholder and learner feedback.
• Independently learn new applications, systems, and technologies to develop accurate and comprehensive training content.

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in instructional design and training development using the ADDIE model.
• Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to assist with instructional design, training content creation, or learning material development.
• Experience designing and developing training for internal business applications, enterprise systems, software tools, or business processes.
• Demonstrated experience developing blended learning solutions, including e-learning, ILT, and VILT.
• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools and instructional content development technologies.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning best practices.
• Experience collaborating with SMEs and business stakeholders to develop and refine training materials.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and easy-to-follow learning experiences.

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00 to $60.00/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
