Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Instructional Designer to craft engaging learning solutions aligned with business strategies. You will design, develop, and evaluate a range of learning formats, partnering with leaders and SMEs to drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities include needs analysis, content creation, SCORM modules, and data-driven evaluation. A hybrid schedule is offered, with preference for candidates in Eastern/Central time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
• 3+ years of instructional design experience, ideally in insurance.
• Solid grasp of instructional design, adult learning theory, and diverse methodologies.
• Proficient with eLearning tools, especially Articulate Storyline.
• Experience with virtual classrooms and LMS platforms.
• Proven ability to deploy learning solutions across multi-state environments.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Overview

The ideal candidate for this role will work a hybrid schedule (four days on-site and one day remote) from any of our AmTrust office locations. While all locations are acceptable, candidates based in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.

Responsible for creating innovative and engaging learning solutions that link to key business strategies. Collaborates with key stakeholders to define learning objectives and measure learning outcomes. Designs and develops learning solutions using various instructional design methods that focus on improving organizational performance. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs learning needs analysis to fully define root cause of learning needs and provide learning strategy solutions to meet the needs.
• Partners with Company leaders and subject matter experts to identify target audience and learning objectives. Set corresponding instructional objectives.
• Creates engaging materials that support the learning objectives and provide a consistent experience to all learners.
• Develops all forms of instructional materials: eLearning, face-to-face classroom, virtual classroom, on the job performance support, videos, simulations, role play, assessments etc.
• Collects, monitors and evaluates program data to determine effectiveness, relevance and quality of materials, content and instruction.
• Creates, updates and maintains SCORM compliant eLearning modules within a Learning Management System.
• Manages all aspects of the instructional design process and maintains appropriate project documentation.
• Keeps current with market trends and demands. Stays informed on industry best practices and learning technology trends and their impact on the organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent business experience
• 3 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in insurance industry
• Strong understanding of instructional design, adult learning theory, learning styles and a variety of learning methodologies
• Extensive experience with eLearning authoring tools, specifically Articulate Storyline
• Experience with virtual classroom technology and Learning Management Systems
• Experience in developing and implementing consistent learning solutions across a multi-state company
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and be persuasive
• Ability to operate both independently an as part of a team

Preferred

• Experience with Kirkpatrick model for measuring learning effectiveness
• Creativity in designing learning solutions
• Advanced presentation and facilitation skills
• Intermediate knowledge of the insurance industry, its practices and operations; preferable background in multiple lines of business.
