Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to lead the end-to-end design and deployment of online learning.

You will collaborate with clinical educators and SMEs to develop engaging e-learning, manage LMS tasks, and maintain the department's online resources to support organizational goals.

This role emphasizes strong instructional design, project management and the ability to deliver high-quality programs under deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in education and instructional design focusing on e-learning.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, evaluate and maintain e-learning programs.
• Collaborate with nurses, educators, SMEs and leaders to meet organizational goals.
• Administrate and maintain the LMS and department web page.

Job Summary

The Instructional Design Specialist (IDS) is responsible for the assessment, analysis, design, development, deployment, evaluation and maintenance of all e-learning programming. Designs engaging and interactive learning activities that include sound instructional design methodology. Partners with the Learning Management System (LMS) administer and develops and maintains the department web page. Works collaboratively with the Nurses in Professional Development, Educators, Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and organizational leaders with the goal of providing online educational programming that meets the strategic goals of the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Require Bachelor degree in instructional design or related field.
• Require two (2) years of experience in education and instructional design, with an emphasis on the development of e-Learning programs. Health care focus is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer knowledge of adult learning principles, particularly as it relates to online learners.
• Prefer demonstrated competence with instructional design and courseware development methods.
• Prefer expertise in courseware design software, such as MS Office, Photoshop, Captivate or comparable software.
• Prefer experience in administering a Learning Management System.
• Prefer strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Prefer ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines.
• Prefer ability to be adaptable and creative under pressure.
• Prefer excellent problem solving and project management skills.
