Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to lead the lifecycle of e-learning programs across the Education & Clinical Programs department.

The role collaborates with nurses, educators and SMEs to deliver instructional content aligned with organizational goals, while maintaining LMS and department web pages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in instructional design or related field
• 2 years of experience in education and instructional design, with emphasis on the development of e-Learning programs; healthcare focus is preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee assessment, analysis, design, development, deployment, evaluation and maintenance of e-learning programs.
• Create engaging learning activities using sound instructional design methodologies.
• Partner with the LMS administrator and maintain the department web page.
• Collaborate with Nurses in Professional Development, Educators, SMEs and leaders to meet organizational goals.

Job Summary

The Instructional Design Specialist (IDS) is responsible for the assessment, analysis, design, development, deployment, evaluation and maintenance of all e-learning programming. Designs engaging and interactive learning activities that include sound instructional design methodology. Partners with the Learning Management System (LMS) administer and develops and maintains the department web page. Works collaboratively with the Nurses in Professional Development, Educators, Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and organizational leaders with the goal of providing online educational programming that meets the strategic goals of the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Require Bachelor degree in instructional design or related field.
• Require two (2) years of experience in education and instructional design, with an emphasis on the development of e-Learning programs. Health care focus is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer knowledge of adult learning principles, particularly as it relates to online learners.
• Prefer demonstrated competence with instructional design and courseware development methods.
• Prefer expertise in courseware design software, such as MS Office, Photoshop, Captivate or comparable software.
• Prefer experience in administering a Learning Management System.
• Prefer strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Prefer ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and effectively meet deadlines.
• Prefer ability to be adaptable and creative under pressure.
• Prefer excellent problem solving and project management skills.
